For when the capability map is fine and the transformation still isn't landing.
Soaring Wings is the methodology home for a diagnostic discipline that names what most architecture frameworks can't see: the distance between a strategic signal arriving and the organisation actually moving. The diagnostic. The practice. The patterns.
Foundations. The capability substrate every response rests on, built before it is needed.
Commitment. The interval where a seen signal becomes a committed response, or never does.
Lift. Conversion found and funded: the distance between knowing and doing, closing.
Performance. What moves once the response lands: measured, not asserted.

The discipline is staged in three layers: the diagnostic itself, the engagement practice it surrounds, and the recurring archetypes it produces. Each layer is published independently; each version is dated.

The Paper: Signal-Response Distance Live
The diagnostic. A framework for measuring the distance between strategic signal and organisational response across six capability stocks, anchored on the capability as the cross-value-stream hub. Working paper v0.4, freely downloadable. Read the diagnostic →

The Playbook: SRD Application Live · v0.7.0
The methodology surface companion to the SRD paper. How any practitioner applies SRD in their own engagement work, in six parts: Foundations, Engagement Protocol, Diagnostic Disciplines, Anti-Overreliance Triad, Patterns, Research Agenda. Published 2026-06-09; open web spine plus an email-gated release pack. Read the Playbook →

The Pattern Library: Engagement Archetypes Preview · Seeded
How the diagnostic scales across recurring engagement shapes. Four engagement archetypes plus three quadrant-derived patterns already published; browser surface and additional entries in build. See the seeded archetypes →
Strategy work and architecture work have been drifting apart for a decade.
Strategy frameworks assume the organisation can move; architecture frameworks assume the strategy is fixed. Neither names the gap between them.
The methodology here is built at the join. It accepts that strategic signals arrive faster than the organisation can absorb them, that AI narrows the window further, and that the binding constraint on transformation is almost never in the artefacts most architecture practices spend their time on.
Soaring Wings is the method. AJ Olivier is the practitioner. The platforms are the acceleration engine.
Two macOS apps carry the discipline between engagements.
Not generic software. Each app is a working tool for a specific part of the diagnostic: capability mapping, maturity scoring, multi-library composites. Used inside engagements, then licensed to client teams who want to keep using them after.
