StrategyMapper Pro

Make strategy visible.

A Wardley mapping canvas with built-in agentic analysis. Map the strategic landscape, run a Claude-driven phase pipeline against it, and surface the patterns that change the conversation — pioneer-settler-town-planner, inertia, commoditisation, doctrine, build-vs-buy, ecosystem play, and more.

Engagement flow

From map to strategic synthesis in four moves.

01

Wardley canvas

User-need at the top, components placed across the genesis-to-commodity axis. Value chain and dependencies anchored visually.

02

Pattern detection

Twelve Wardley patterns run against the map — pioneer-settler-town-planner, inertia, commoditisation, doctrine, build-vs-buy, ecosystem play, value-chain gap, and others surface automatically.

03

Agentic analysis

Claude-driven phase pipeline produces intake analysis, doctrine framing, and frontier-position derivation — each finding tagged to concepts from the Essential Model.

04

Strategic synthesis

Findings, decisions, and doctrine recommendations consolidated into the engagement record. The map is the working canvas; the synthesis is the deliverable.

Interface fragments and engagement screenshots ship with the next release pack. The flow shown above is the conceptual register; the live application carries the same four-step shape across ten navigation tabs (Journey, Dashboard, Map, Comparison, Patterns, Decisions, SRD, Ontology, Coordination, Value Streams).

§1 · What it does

Wardley mapping with analysis built in.

StrategyMapper Pro is a Wardley mapping canvas with built-in strategic pattern detection and an agentic analysis pipeline. The map is the working surface — user-need at the top, components placed across the genesis-to-commodity axis, value chain anchored visually, dependencies and links explicit. Comparison views support pre- and post-state mapping; timeline views track evolution across map versions.

Twelve Wardley patterns ship as detectors: pioneer-settler-town-planner, inertia, commoditisation, build-vs-buy, ecosystem play, value-chain gap, duplication, doctrine, management mismatch, differentiation pressure, commodity leverage, and dependency risk. Patterns surface from the map structurally — the practitioner does not write rules to find them.

Underneath the canvas, a Claude-driven phase pipeline runs strategic analysis: intake interpretation, pattern detection, doctrine framing, frontier-position derivation. Each finding is tagged to concepts from the Essential Model using a published scoring formula (0.6 × conceptJaccard + 0.4 × cosine) so synthesis stays anchored to the methodology vocabulary rather than free text.

§2 · Core capabilities

What's inside.

  1. Full Wardley mapping

Component placement on the genesis-custom-product-commodity axis with explicit user-need anchoring. Value chain and dependencies modelled directly on the canvas. Document-based — each engagement gets its own portfolio of maps.

  2. Twelve pattern detectors

Pioneer-settler-town-planner, inertia, commoditisation, build-vs-buy, ecosystem play, value-chain gap, duplication, doctrine, management mismatch, differentiation pressure, commodity leverage, dependency risk. Patterns surface from map structure, not from prompts.

  3. Claude-driven agentic pipeline

Phase-based strategic analysis: intake interpretation → pattern detection → doctrine analysis → frontier-position derivation. Findings tagged to the Essential Model and persisted in the engagement record.

  4. Comparison and evolution timelines

Compare pre- and post-state maps directly. Track how the landscape has moved across map versions. Movement and evolution as first-class concerns — not afterthoughts.

  5. Built-in Essential Model ontology

Concept-grounded pattern matching against the methodology vocabulary using a published scoring formula. Browse, search, and tag concepts directly inside the application — the ontology is part of the canvas, not external reference material.

  6. Native macOS, local-only

Built for Apple Silicon and Intel. Document-based architecture (no SwiftData server-side state). Engagement data stays on the practitioner's machine; Claude API calls send only the structured payload required for each phase.

§3 · Where it fits in the methodology

The strategic landscape, navigable.

StrategyMapper Pro is the practitioner's strategic landscape canvas. The methodology assumes that before the SRD diagnostic measures response distance, somebody has named what the strategic terrain actually looks like — what components matter, what the value chain depends on, which pieces are commoditising under the practitioner's feet. SMP holds that work: the map is the substrate other engagement phases anchor to.

Where Soaring Wings Pro carries the engagement record and the maturity assessment, StrategyMapper Pro carries the strategic positioning. The SRD-matrix tab inside SMP lets a practitioner place individual signals on the quadrant; the deeper diagnostic record lives in SWP.

§4 · Access

StrategyMapper Pro is not sold as generic software. It is used inside Soaring Wings advisory engagements and is available to partners and practitioners trained in the methodology.
